Codename: Jasper, Xbox 360′s latest motherboard
What is a Jasper console?
Jasper is the latest revision of Xbox 360. The console does not look any different, and does not operate ”faster“… but it is cooler! The PSU (power supply) has changed, as well as the GPU die size. The PSU is now 150W (as opposed to 175W with Falcon) and the GPU is now 65nm. With this revision the 360 is now a full 65nm console, with both the CPU and GPU die size being 65nm. Since the original Xbox 360 was plaqued with problems due to heat, each revision (Falcon, now Jasper) has been designed to require less power, which means less heat.
Here is a comparison of power usage between all of the 360 revisions, including Jasper:

How to find a Jasper console in stores:
Unfortunately there is no guaranteed way of finding a Jasper console at this point, even if all of the below information matches (or exceeds) a console in stores. Please keep this in mind while trying to find a Jasper console, and when you are posting in this thread.
The following information is from confirmed Jasper consoles. Your best bet is to try and match this exactly before you purchase a new 360, as newer consoles have been found and are Falcon, NOT Jasper.
Update: JASPER are now common, but it never hurts to verify the power ratings outlined below just to be sure.
Lot Number: 0842X
Team: FDOU/CSON
Manufacture Date: 10/14/2008
PSU Output: 175W
Console Power Rating: 12.1A
The lot number, team, manufacture date, as well as the power rating can be seen without opening the box. See “How to find Lot and Team info:” below. Finding a console with a later manf. date or higher lot number will increase your chances of getting a Jasper console. Lots higher than 0845 should guarantee you a Jasper.

Ben Heckendorn, of Xbox 360 Notebook fame, adds this little snippet;
“The Xbox 360 box has a hole at the top of it where the bar code of the console is visible. Clerks usually scan this when you buy one. What you need to do it look at the lower left corner of this box. If you peer closely you can make out at least half of the voltage/amperage rating of the unit. The # of amps used by the 12 volt rail is the key to determining which console it is. 14.2 amps equals a Falcon unit (65nm CPU, 90nm GPU). Please keep in mind there’s nothing wrong with having one of these, I play mine a lot and it’s fine. You might not be able to see the whole voltage listing just through the peep-hole, but you should at least be able to see if a 14.2A or 12.1A is just to the left of the 5V. “ Read Ben’s complete analysis of Jasper
So keep your eyes peeled if you are looking to purchase either your first Xbox 360, or if you ar needing to replace your original RROD Xbox.
Be Cool!
